On 30 December the OTB received notification from Defra that the EU has now agreed to recognise the UK as equivalent for organics until 31 December 2023.
This is in addition to the agreed equivalence recognition for UK control bodies (certifiers) and the UK agreeing to recognise the EU as equivalent.
This is great news for UK organic sector as it means UK certified goods can be sold as organic within the EU.
