OTB member Garden Organic is on a mission to get as many people as possible following organic practices in their gardens, allotments, and balconies.
The charity, formerly known as the Henry Doubleday Research Association, has been helping people to go organic at home and in their community for over 65 years, carrying out research to inform best practice, and sharing their expertise via practical growing advice.
In 2024 Garden Organic would love to collaborate with companies with a similar ethos on a range of different projects to demonstrate how gardeners can support biodiversity through sustainable organic practices such as composting, seed saving and organic growing.

Top on the charity’s priority list for 2024 is a show garden at BBC Gardeners’ World Live. Having attended for two years running, they want to go even bigger and better next year! Co-hosted with the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in June, the event attracts up to 100,000 consumers. With plenty of shopping opportunities, expert talks and inspirational displays, plus potential exposure in other BBC outlets (Gardeners’ World magazine and TV, BBC Good Food magazine) it’s a great way to reach many thousands of people.
Garden Organic is also looking for companies who can help with their Heritage Seed Library conservation project, protecting and sharing the UK’s National Collection of vegetable varieties. There are many ways you could help with this work, from a corporate volunteering day or a one-off donation to support a specific vegetable variety, to a long-term relationship to secure the future of this vital conservation initiative (described by Monty Don as ‘heroic’!).
