On 25 September IFOAM will be holding a global day of celebration for farmers and growers who farm organically and sustainably with their campaign #IGrowYourFood.

You can engage with the campaign if you are a farmer by creating a film or or a post with a photograph with a message about why you farm organically and sharing it on social media.

The day will start with a #IGrowYourFood kick-off livestream at 10am London time when Silvia Kuria, an organic farmer who lives outside Nairobi, will talk about the joys and challenges of growing organically. Over the past few years, she has developed a successful business, Sylvia’s basket. The livestream will be on facebook here.

For farmers and growers that want to take part in the campaign, there are resources on the IFOAM website, including statistics.

For those in the organic community who want to support our organic farmers, please repost or retweet farmers posts tomorrow with the hashtags #IGrowYourFood and #LuvOrganic and if you tag us at @OrganicUK we will retweet or repost too.

At 4pm there will be a livestream interview with organic farmer, Natalia Salazar from Ecuador who will also talk about how she farms organically and food sovereignty in her region (this will be in Spanish)

It will be a great opportunity to acknowledge and thank all the organic farmers and thank them for the food they grow!
